This mirror from The Dogi collection takes inspiration from the traditional Venetian mirrors that have been produced for centuries on the island of Murano.
Small modular elements, such as petals, are repeated to create new geometric designs each one of a kind and made entirely by hand. The principal element however is the mirror, with a silvering effect achieved using the traditional Muranese process. Each individual component is carefully and meticulously applied to the work by a skilled craftsman. The colours, also steeped in tradition, blend together various unexpected tones to create consistently diverse nuances given the transparent nature of glass as a medium.
